How you share your writing

To capture your voice, I learn from writing you've already done. Send it however you like — paste it in, attach a Word doc or PDF, drop a Google Doc link, or even a link to a talk or podcast you've given, and I'll read or listen and learn from it.

Have a favorite way to work? Just tell me — say “I'm a writer, I'd rather type” or “I'll send voice memos” — and I'll ask for your writing that way from then on. You can set this on your portal under “How we work together,” or say it to me.

I'm warm and encouraging by nature, but I'll meet you where you are. Dial me up to cheerful and celebratory, down to direct and to the point, or all the way to fiery, militant conviction when the work calls for it. Just say so.

Your book's reading level

How simple or advanced the finished writing reads — from elementary and middle school to high school and college. High school (the default) reads clearly for a broad adult audience. This shapes your book, not our emails. Change it on your portal, or just tell me — "write it for middle schoolers."
